Job Description

Senior Consultants are the next step up the career progression ladder.  The Senior Consultants will also be divided into two main groupings, primarily Technical and primarily Business.  As with the Consultants all SC's will be expected to have a good grounding in the other grouping.  In addition to the duties of the Consultant the Senior will be expected to take on a more management and / supervisory role within the project.  Frequently the Senior will be used as either a Technical or Project Lead.  This will bring into play the additional responsibilities of managing project budgets and delivery.   The duties of the Senior Consultant can be defined as:

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Working on implementation, integration, enhancement projects based on Maximo, Syclo and associated technologies.

 

  • Acting as the Project Lead on a variety of Maximo projects - providing mentoring and coaching to other members of the project team.

 

  • Assisting in the overall process of managing the project.  This role will frequently be shared between the Senior Consultant and the Engagement Manager.  This activity should be defined as a definitive activity on the project plan and assigned its own budget.

 

  • Will be expected to have knowledge / experience of one or more of the following industry verticals:
    • Utilities (Water Electricity or Gas)
    • Transportation
    • Manufacturing
    • Oil and Gas (including Petrochemical)
    • Facilities Management operations

 

  • Production of detailed Functional and Technical specifications in support of the activities required to deliver the customer requirements for the project.

 

  • Identification of any additional opportunities for the company with an existing client - whether via Change Requests on the existing project or for new pieces of work.

 

Competencies

 

The following are a high level list of the technical / business competencies which would be expected from a Senior Consultant in Vetasi.  The first two groups would be expected to be present in varying degrees in all Senior Consultants.  The second two groups (Technical and Business) will be present in varying degrees in different Consultants.

Technical Competencies

 

Functionality:  Good knowledge of the functionality available from Maximo, Syclo and associated technologies

Configuration:  Technical skill and knowledge in the configuration of Maximo and / or Syclo

Maximo Workflow:

Maximo Interfaces :  Knowledge of the MEA and MIF technology

Maximo  / Syclo Java Objects:

Maximo Upgrades:  Experience of performing and / or assisting in the upgrade of various versions of Maximo / Syclo

Mobile:Knowledge of Syclo and / or Maximo mobile solutions

Data Base:SQLServer / Oracle / DB2

Coding Skills:java (including scripting languages), SQL, Websphere / Weblogic configuration

Specialist Skils:Reflective, Pervasive, Spatial, iPortal, CiM Visual Suite, Mainnovation, Scheduling tools

Report writing Skills:Cognos, Birt, Actuate, Business Objects

 

 

Business Competencies

 

Maximo / Syclo Training Delivery: 

Maximo Workshop Delivery:  Experience of running business workshops with clients to gather business intelligence 

Maximo Business Benefit Analysis:  Ability to capture workshop output and consolidate the output into discernable business benefit for the client

Maximo Business experience:  Experience in the business use of Maximo - potentially gained from working within companies using Maximo

Maximo Project management experience:  Usually backed up by a recognised accreditation with either Prince or PMI

Maximo Project Documentation experience.  Experience of delivering high quality project documentation from workshops and other design activities
